Vegetables garden is growing of different seasonal vegetable crops in a portion of sub project preferably contiguous area of about 0.5 to 1.0 acre or more, either belonging to one farmer or group of farmers to meet out day to day requirements of vegetables of a family/ group of families and various visitors to the sub project from nearby villages including Govt./Pvt. Sector employees serving in the vicinity of the sub project areas. The surplus vegetable produce can also be sold in the nearby local market. The JICA vegetable Garden aspires to establish a year-round Centre of Excellence, setting high standards in agricultural practices in an area.
The establishment of such Vegetable Gardens will help beneficiaries in following ways:
