The Himachal Pradesh Crop Diversification Promotion Project (HPCDP) - Phase II is a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainable crop diversification. Supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the project focuses on boosting farmers' income by improving irrigation facilities, farm access roads, and marketing opportunities.
Following the success of Phase I (2011-2021), which benefited five districts and increased farmers' income 3 to 5 times, Phase II was launched with a budget of ₹1010.60 crore to cover all 12 districts of Himachal Pradesh. The project is implemented by the Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Development Society (HPADS) and aims to empower farmers through modern agricultural practices, value chain development, and institutional support.
